
PDT is an acronym of Photo Dynamic Therapy, and is called photodynamic therapy.
After applying light sensitive product to skin and shining the light, only light is accumulated in the cell with disease selectively so it can be treated. Depending upon the wavelengths of light, each disease for treatment may differ. However, photodynamic therapy is well known to be effective to pustular acne.

ALA PDT is a Photo Dynamic Therapy using 5-aminolevlineic acid (ALA).
It is a Photodynamic therapy applies 5-aminolevlineic acid (ALA) on the skin with existing inflammatory acne followed by applying light (423nm/BLUE). ALA PDT is a convenient acne solution which is free from the risk of deforming the baby in the womb since one does not need to intake any medication and apply constantly on the skin. ALA PDT is an ultimate solution for acne since the phototherapy kills acne bacteria from the sebaceous glands level. There are many kinds of lights used in photodynamic therapy but light that has broad wavelength must be used for an effective absorption. IPL or blue light is most used at present and Omega light is based on blue light.
